The new Verdi Festival 2010 calendar
Scheduled from the 1st to the 28th of October in all Verdi’s lands
On the 23rd of June, at 11.30 a.m., at the Salone del Consiglio Nazionale Collegio Romano has been presented the Verdi Festival 2010 edition. The customary exhibition dedicated to one of the great Italian composer will take place from the 1st to the 28th October, in Parma, and in all the Verdi’s lands. During these 28 Festival days it will be possible to admire the most beautiful Master’s operas, first of all, Il Trovatore, I Vespri Siciliani and Attila, the three operas that characterize the 2010 program of the kermes.
This year Yuri Temirkanov will inaugurate the Verdi Festival with the performance of Il Trovatore , together to an exceptional, high level cast: Marcelo Alvarez, Norma Fantini, Mariana Tarasova and Claudio Sgura.
I Vespri Siciliani instead will characterize the coming back on the stage of Leo Nucci together with Daniela Dessì, Fabio Armiliato, and Giacomo Prestia, conducted by Massimo Zanetti. In Busseto Theatre instead will be staged Attila, a melodrama inspired to the historical events that see as protagonist the legendary leader of the Huns. With Pierfranco Maestrini’s direction, will play on stage Giovanni Battista Parodi, Susanna Branchini, Maria Agresta and Roberto De Biasio. As mentioned last year, the three major works of the Festival will be incorporated fully into the project which provides digital recording of the Verdi opera for the bicentenary of 2013.
